At Jay Gronemyer, DMD, we offer a variety of comprehensive dental services to meet the needs of the Redmond community. Whether it’s time for your regular cleaning or you need extensive restorative work done, we’re here to help you have the smile you deserve.
Studies have shown that overall health is closely tied to dental health. Routine preventive care helps ensure that your teeth, gums, and jaw are healthy and helps us catch potential problems before they require more invasive treatment.
If you’ve experienced a trauma to your mouth or jaw, don’t suffer in pain until an available appointment. Call our office immediately! We reserve time in our schedule each day for emergencies, so you don’t have to just grin and bear it.
There are times when preventive care isn’t enough to keep your teeth in good shape. Restorative procedures like fillings, crowns, and root canal therapy help get your teeth back in good health. We offer all of these procedures in our office, so you don’t have to drive all around town for appointments with specialists.
If we discover a cavity forming during an exam, we offer you two options for filling the cavity and restoring your tooth to health. Traditional amalgam fillings are silver in color. Composite fillings are tooth-colored, so they look more natural. They also require a less invasive procedure and leave behind more of the tooth’s healthy structure.
Crowns are placed on top of teeth that are cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged or weakened to add strength and prevent further damage. Our porcelain crowns are custom fabricated for a natural fit in your mouth and to match the color of your surrounding healthy teeth.
For patients missing one or more teeth, bridges are often a great solution. Bridges attach to crowns that are placed on either side of the gap caused by missing teeth. The connecting bridge has false teeth in place of the missing teeth, restoring function and giving your smile a more complete look.
When your natural teeth have failed, often the best solution to replace them is dentures. Dr. Gronemyer and our team can fabricate full or partial dentures that will have you talking, smiling, and eating comfortably again. The fabrication and fitting process for your dentures takes a few appointments, but once they’re fitted, they feel remarkably comfortable.
Pain from an infected tooth can be excruciating. Root canal therapy — although most people associate it with pain — is typically the best way to relieve the pain and save the infected tooth. During root canal therapy, Dr. Gronemyer will scrape out the infected pulp and clean out the tooth. A crown will be placed over the tooth to keep future infections at bay and provide strength to the weakened tooth.
Wisdom teeth are an additional set of molars that often erupt during late teen to early adult years. Often, there isn’t enough room for these teeth to fit comfortably in the mouth, so extraction is necessary. If left alone, surrounding teeth could shift or the wisdom teeth could become impacted, leaving room for infection. Dr. Gronemyer will perform an exam and take digital X-rays of your mouth to determine if extraction is needed. If it is, he will walk you through the procedure and provide you with the necessary sedation during the surgery.
Your smile says so much about you, and it is often the first impression people have of you. Get a smile that you’re proud to show off with our cosmetic dental services.
If you find yourself hiding your teeth due to chips, cracks, gaps, or severe discoloration, porcelain veneers could be a solution. Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are custom crafted and bonded to the front side of your teeth to drastically change your smile. The veneers are created from a model you create with the help of Dr. Gronemyer and our smile preview software.
We offer two ways to whiten your smile. ZOOM!® in-office one-visit whitening can brighten your smile up to eight shades in a single appointment. If you prefer to whiten on your own time, we can create custom whitening trays for you to use at home in conjunction with our professional strength whitening gel. Dr. Gronemyer will suggest a whitening routine for you to follow at home to get the beautifully white smile you’ve always wanted.

The Academy of General Dentistry recommends that children visit a dentist when their first tooth erupts or by their first birthday. At Jay Gronemyer, DMD, we are happy to see children of all ages for a variety of pediatric dental services.

We want you to be comfortable with all aspects of your treatment while in our care. Dr. Gronemyer thoroughly explains all procedures with patients prior to beginning treatment. If at any point you are uncomfortable, let us know and we will gladly adjust our pacing to help you feel more at ease.
Additionally, for those who suffer from dental anxiety, we offer a number of calming sedation options to help you feel more relaxed during procedures. Although most patients report no lingering side effects, we recommend that you have someone drop you off and pick you up from your appointment if you will be undergoing sedation of any kind.
We use nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, to help patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety relax during their treatment. The gas is inhaled through a mask during your procedure and induces a heightened sense of well-being and relaxation. When your procedure is over, inhaling pure oxygen for just a minute or two will completely reverse the effects of the gas.
For patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety, we offer oral conscious sedation. Dr. Gronemyer will carefully prescribe you a pill to take shortly before your appointment. By the time treatment begins, you will be completely at ease while also fully conscious, allowing us to communicate with you during the procedure.
Once your procedure is over, there’s no need to deal with numbness in your gums, lips, or cheeks, which makes even basic activities such as drinking and talking difficult. An injection of OraVerse helps speed up the return of normal sensation following dental work. OraVerse is thought to increase the blood flow to soft tissue areas, allowing sensation to return within an hour or so, compared to two or more hours without medication.
